Ten Practical Ways To Grow Your Church

Image
We’re all familiar with statistics that decry the declining UK Church, but many local churches are bucking the trend. Justin Brierley investigates what has made the difference for those whose churches are bursting at the seams.  "IT’S ALL ABOUT ‘OPENING NEW “FRONT DOORS” TO THE CHURCH"   ...Joel Virgo "THE PULPIT IS THE RUDDER OF THE CHURCH"        ...Clement Okusi "WHENEVER THEY NEED US, THEY CAN TURN UP AT THE DOOR AND THEY WILL ALWAYS BE WELCOMED IN WITH A HUG" ...Linda Maslen "THE FIRST KEY WAS A RENEWED EMPHASIS ON PRAYER" ...Tope Koleoso "YOUNG PEOPLE NEED TO BE PURPOSEFULLY PLACED INTO VISIBLE LEADERSHIP ROLES" ...Lee Kricher Let’s be clear: there is no miracle formula for growing your church. If the magic ingredients could be bottled and sold, someone somewhere would be very rich by now. Nor is numerical growth the only mark of success. Discipleship, local engagement and longevity of commitment are also...

Don't Sacrifice Your Ministry for Your Family

Image
By Craig Thompson I have lost count of how many times I have been warned, “Do not sacrifice your family on the altar of ministry.” I plan to write on that later, but for now, I want to encourage you not to sacrifice your ministry on the altar of your family. I do not deny that many pastors have lost their families because the church became their mistress, but I’ve also seen many pastors lose their ministry because they made their families an idol or simply because they created an unnatural divide between their family life and their ministry life. As a Christian minister you must resist the temptation to separate your family life from your ministry life. You must also resist the temptation to idolize your family. It is true that if you lose your family you will lose your ministry, but what leads you to believe that it is essential for you to spend every waking hour with your wife and kids? The idea of a forty-hour workweek is not necessarily bad, but it is not ...

Church Becoming Social Gathering.. What Shall We Do?

Image
WHAT SHALL WE DO? When we can no longer differentiate a church from a social gathering, and all what people do in church is to just have fun. When we can’t differentiate a choir from a harlot, and an usher is not different from a waiter.  When the church is no more conducive where shall we go? When worship session in a church is just like a  disco night and we cant differentiate a pastor from a comedian.  When salvation & Sanctification messages become old school & scarce. the order of the day & core course are miracles, prosperity and  entertainment message.  When the church is no more conducive where shall we go? When prayer warrior now have to go to tongue-speaking school for utterances, and deliverance  and healing session is now like MTH 201 to be  taught and learned with the presence of The Holy Spirit & Holiness.  When pastor have to pause for members to clap and shout during sermon in enthusiasm, and ...

Shocking Connections bewteen Jesus and Superman Revealed!!..

Image
Fascinatingly, no other superhero resembles Christ’s story better than Superman. If you haven’t heard the story, it goes something like this; From above, father Jor-el sends his son Kal-el as a baby to earth Like God the Father sent His Son Jesus to this world. By the way, El is Hebrew for God. Kal-el was sent in a star-like space ship Similar to Christ’s first coming that was heralded by a star. When he came, he was raised by two earthly parents who were originally named Joseph and Mary (later Jonathan and Martha) . Jesus was raised by two earthly parents, Joseph and Mary. When Kal-el comes of age, he visits the artic wilderness to speak with his father’s spirit. Like Jesus’ visit to the wilderness. Thereafter, Kal-el (earthly name is Clark ) embraces his mission as Superman to fight for truth and justice. Similar to Jesus’ mission. Superman’s mortal enemy is Lex , who envies His power. Like Satan who wanted be like God. Superman came back to l...
