When God Is Silent!

Image
Psalm 102: 1-7: Hear my prayer, O Lord; let my cry for help come to you. Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress. Turn your ear to me; when I call, answer me quickly. For my days vanish like smoke; my bones burn like glowing embers. My heart is blighted and withered like grass; I forget to eat my food. Because of my loud groaning I am reduced to skin and bones. I am like a desert owl, like an owl among the ruins. I lie awake; I have become like a bird alone on a roof. We live in a world where there is constant noise and very little silence. Noise is something that we are accustomed to and when there is silence, we become uncomfortable. When the pastor asks the congregation to pray in silence, before the pastoral prayer, I take notice of people moving around uneasily. Even in the middle of a church service, we are anxious when it comes to silence. Silence is especially painful when it is the silence of God in our lives. And it seems that when we are going through a...

11 POINTS ON HOW TO AVOID HEARTBREAK IN RELATIONSHIPS

Image
1. Not all relationships must lead to  marriage. Some relationships are for a  reason, others are for a season only few  are for a life time. If it doesn't work out don't kill yourself because it was for something. Discover the purpose and move on. 2. Don't give a man or a woman the totality of your heart before giving the totality of your heart to God. Love that person but put God first. 3. Don't get carried away with beauty or money, if that person's inner person cannot keep you, his money or her beauty cannot either. 4. Love is never enough, understanding, compatibility, wisdom, patience and tolerance are equally important. 5. When the negative signs are more than the positive signs. It is better to withdraw your heart before it gets 'broken'. 6. Extreme jealousy is the quickest way to break that relationship. 7. Don't demand trust, earn it or build it or show it. 8. Never you compare him or her to som...

QUALITIES OF A GODLY MATE..

Image
I once had a college professor who told of the most honest funeral sermon he had ever heard. The man who had died was a drunk, a failure as a father, and a miserable husband. Everyone listened intently to the words of the preacher, wondering what he could possibly say that was good about this drunkard. To their surprise, the preacher leaned over the pulpit and spoke directly to the widow. His message to her was clear and simple--“Don’t make the same mistake twice!” Many of the marriages in the Bible are less than ideal. Sarah, Abraham’s wife, has always struck me as being cranky and bossy. Job’s wife offered little comfort in the midst of his trials. In fact, it might have been considered a blessing for her to have been taken in one of the disasters that wiped out his children and his flocks. One of the most pathetic marriages in the Old Testament is that of Abigail and her husband Nabal, described in  1 Samuel 25 . She was wise and beautiful, while he was harsh an...

Letter About Marriage

Image
Many things have been said about this topic, I hope God give us all direction on it. Read below a letter about this controversial subject... A MOTHER'S LETTER TO HER CHILDREN ABOUT MARRIAGE Dear Children, Should the Lord give you the good gift of a husband or wife, and I hope He does, there are a few things I want you to know. Things that you may not hear from anyone else, and certainly not on TV or other media. Sadly, your church may not even tell you. Marriage, sweet little people, is not for the purpose of your happiness. Happy as I want you to be and hope you will be, you must yet understand that marriage is God’s design and His purposes must be pursued in order for you to be truly happy. His end is holiness and He will use all things in a life devoted to Him to fulfill that end. To my girls: Marry a man whose first pursuit is Christ. After that, he is not hard to please. Admire him, cheer him on and show gratitude, and he will fall over himself trying...
